I call Darrell Moss (a.k.a D.Moss), the Guru. A lot of times someone has a ton of field claims handling experience, or they understand how to efficiently manage an adjuster’s desk, or they have worked extensively in the construction industry. However, it’s rare that you find someone with expertise from all three of these perspectives who can, and is, willing to teach you. He has a firm grasp on the property claims process from cradle to grave that he blends together to provide a comprehensive instructional approach.
Anyone can give you an answer, but the best teachers are those who can give you information complete with an understanding that you can apply to the situation at hand as well as later down the road. He gives you the tools you need so that you not only know what to do, but he is also patient enough to take the time to make sure you understand why you did it.
He’s helped me with everything from how to properly recognize hail damage, to how to write up a difficult repair in Xactimate and in my claim file. He approaches decision making from a position of, will my handling hold up if this were to go to litigation? A lot of people can tell you how to be a claims adjuster. Darrell will help guide you into becoming a claims professional.
He will tell you that his passion comes from his God given purpose to make this world better than he received it. And it’s this very reason that differentiates him from everyone else. Other people train for a living…HE LIVES TO TRAIN!!! As independent adjusters, our goal on every assignment is to be the last person released.
